In 2013, Oscar de la Renta created a line for The Outnet - Net-a-Porter's sister site.  This dress was a part of that collection. We love that Alex Bolen made the decision to do this because it was a sustainable option that utilized existing materials.

The 24 piece collection of garments were not as expensive as the regular line, but were produced in the same factory, and were of the same quality as Oscar de la Renta's main fashion line. They were priced from around $350-1200. The pieces were created with existing patterns and fabrics from the fashion house's archives. "We have things around here that are underutilized - 40 years of patterns, fabrics and artwork that a lot of people spent time on. We thought, perhaps we can put something together in a way that is new, that doesn't require as much development time and in an exclusive way," Alex Bolen, CEO Oscar de la Renta.
