We adore this unique deep navy blue wool Valentino dress suit! This circa 1970's ensemble comes with a dress that has thick wool skirt with three decorative buttons down the front, beautiful pleats, and a waistband that make it look like a separate skirt. The dress top looks like a tucked in ribbed turtleneck, and the long sleeves are the same material as the skirt. The matching cropped jacket has a beautiful structure, front seams and two decorative pockets. It is also in the same material as the skirt, and the sleeves on the jacket as well as the dress both have buttons at the cuff.
The skirt and the jacket are both lined. The jacket closes with looped button closures, and the dress has a side zipper with decorative buttons down the front of the skirt. The turtleneck is long, and can be worn bunched down or folded over.
Made in Italy, marked as size 10, this fits more like a modern day size 8/10.

We were fortunate to acquire the estate of a retired California female judge who is now 93 years old. She had an incredible designer wardrobe that included Geoffrey Beene, Givenchy, Sonia Rykiel, Hermes, Ferragamo, Chanel and Valentino, and this ensemble was hers.
