This fabulous 1980's vintage Patrick Kelly dress can be worn so effortlessly today! The dress is in a black wool jersey knit with an orange color block flounce hem.
The dress has a fitted body, dolman sleeves and a tie at the neck that leaves a keyhole opening. We have this same vintage Patrick Kelly dress in black and pink from the same estate and both dresses were barely, if ever worn! This dress slips overhead with no closures and hugs the body just in the right places with the colored portion being more free flowing like a ruffle.
Patrick Kelly made his name in the 1980's with fashions that were inspired by the women he saw at church growing up in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and his designs often incorporated elements that paid tribute to his past. He died much too young in 1990 at the age of 35, so we weren't able to enjoy his talent long enough, but we always happy to come across his pieces every now and add them our collection! W
