This is a Gianni Versace runway documented 1998 silk Dress in a purple-pink lavender and cream pattern with geometric abstract cloudVersace shapes and tiny blue stars.
The dress has a nice square neckline and the left side of the waist and the hips has gentle pleat like ruching that wraps around the back of the dress as well. Even though the ruching is very subtle, This allows the dress to pull at the waist for a more flattering fit. The sleeves are slightly flared at the cuff and there is pleated ruching found under the left arm as well to avoid bunching of excess fabric from the hip ruching. The dress is made of 94% Silk and 6% Spandex. A brilliant design!
This pretty dress closes with a side metal zipper down right side and was made in Italy, of course! Labeled a European size 40 and a US 6. Estimated size: 6-8 depending on desired fit. Please note that the price reflects that there is some slight fading on the top of the shoulders.
We have shown an image of the dress on the original runway as well as a version of the same print in a different style used in an ad featuring Erin O'Connor by Richard Avedon in 1998. This was Donatella Versace's first, very emotional, runway show after the untimely tragic death of Gianni Versace and she dedicated this show to her brother, Gianni.
