This is a very rare vintage Spring Summer 1991 Franco Moschino Couture runway khaki safari style Survival Jacket with tools to survive the urban jungle!
This iconic jacket was featured on the Moschino Couture runway for Spring / Summer 1991. We are fortunate to have or have had several pieces from that incredible '91 collection designed by Franco Moschino himself.
There aren't enough words to describe how much we love this utility style jacket! It is detailed with a variety of pockets that contain unused, empty gold and black beauty accessories; a brush, comb, compact, lipstick tube, mirror, mascara, nail clippers, etc. Usually these jackets are missing many or most of the original tools, but fortunately, this one has all of the tools but one-the blush brush. You would only need to add your own wallet and credit cards to complete the look!
There are center front gold snaps for closure, a notched collar and long sleeves. "SURVIVAL JACKET" is printed on back and the jacket is 100% Cotton with 60% acetate and 40% rayon lining. One of these jackets is part of the MET costume collection.

Franco Moschino designed his collections to send a message about the fashion industry and the absurdity of the fashion world with his pieces. We love that he understood that the fashion industry needed to change and we only wish he could have lived much longer, to realize his dream of creating a sustainable fashion collection.
"Too many designers do just one thing, one way. I like the big melting pot. The mess,” Franco Moschino 1989 Vogue interview.
