This is a fab vintage red and blue plaid pure new wool double breasted blazer from Escada, designed by Margaretha Ley in the 1980's. This amazing Escada 1980's fully lined plaid wool blazer is in vibrant shades of blue, red, purple, yellow, and black. The fit is slightly oversized and long line with very broad shoulders, supported with shoulder pads. The black with a braided gold rope detail buttons are wider apart at the top and are much closer together towards the bottom. This effect gives the illusion that this jacket is slightly smaller at the waist for a flattering fit. There is a single breast pocket and there are two flap front pockets. Made in Germany. 100% New Wool. Labeled size 40. We estimate this would best fit a modern 10, but please use the measurements as a guide for a proper fit! The best way to judge sizing is to take a similar garment that fits you well and measure it on a flat surface, then compare to our measurements below!

If you are a current customer, you already know how much we love vintage Escada pieces that were designed by Margaretha Ley! They were so beautifully made and the fabrics and original patterns are such a contrast to the thin, man made fabrics found in even higher end brands today. Even the buttons used were of the highest quality! Some of the bravest, most stylish people wore Escada in the 1980's and since the Modig name means brave in Swedish, it makes sense that they have a special place in our hearts!
