This is a vintage 3 piece suit from designer Geoffrey Beene that was purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue in the 1990's. We are obsessed with the vintage pieces designed by Mr. Beene and always grab them whenever we can find them! Geoffrey Beene was one of the most innovative, original designers in America during the 20th century. His pieces were incredibly well made and we love the way he obsessed over unique fabrics and unusual fabric and color combinations.
This beautiful Geoffrey Beene outfit is made in a black and beige speckled smooth knit fabric with a silk top. This ensemble includes an open front jacket with side slit pockets and shoulder pads that is lined in the silk, a fine silk top with short sleeves and a skirt that closes with a back zipper and is made of the same knit as the jacket. Though labeled a vintage size 10, we estimate this ensemble to fit a modern day size 6/8. Please review the measurements instead of using size numbers as a guide for the best fit.
