This is such a unique handbag from Jolles Junior in the 1950's. It is tall and structured, with a beautifully swan created from glued beads, blue gemstones, and a large gold tone metal piece as the wing. The beads are very tiny with a variety of blue tones.
This bag as a gold tone frame and chain handle with a kiss clasp closure. The inside just has one small side pocket. It are also has gold toned feet at the bottom of the bag.
In excellent condition. A few beads have rubbed off towards the bottom of the bird.
Ida Jolles started her company, Jolles Originals, in the 1920's and was initially known for her exquisite needlepoint and hand beaded bags. Bags like these with the mixed materials and novelty animals became very popular and are now very collectible.
