Description
This outstanding vintage Chanel Haute Couture jacket top and skirt suit is in a rich magenta and plum purple chevron lightweight wool challis. The suit comes with its original braided leather belt with a lion's head buckle.
Though this is outfit is technically a suit, it feels more like a blouse and skirt when worn. The jacket style top has two pockets and lion head buttons down the center front for closure. We love the little tie at the neck that can adds just the right touch! The suit is fully lined and has the signature Chanel chain at the hem for weight and two buttons on the cuffs of the sleeves.
The coordinating Chanel belt is braided purple leather with gold chain and the rectangular buckle has the gold lion's head. The fully lined pleated skirt is fixed at the waist and closes with a side zipper.
The ensemble fits like a US 2/4 with a narrow waist. We also have the coordinating wool boucle cape that goes with this outfit, as well as the Chanel Chicklet necklace and we will be listing those pieces separately.
This suit comes from the estate of Phyllis McGuire, the lead singer and youngest of the “The McGuire Sisters” trio. The image of the outfit from Chanel is for your reference but is not included with the outfit.

We lay all garments flat and measure as follows*:

BUST - under arm to under arm across the front and then double that measurement. |
Measure the WAISTBAND, widest part of the HIPS, widest part of the THIGH on one leg and width of the CUFF, then double those measurements |

WAIST - find the smallest part of the garment if there isn't an obvious seam for the waist and measure across and then double that measurement. |
LENGTH - Measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the cuff along the side seam. | |
| HIPS - Find the largest part of the hip area and measure flat, then double that measurement. | RISE - Measure from the crotch to the top of the waistband. | |
| LENGTH - from the nape of the neck or the top of the shoulders, depending on the style of garment. We will measure to the waist when applicable, so that you can determine if it will fit your torso, and then a waist down measurement. | INSEAM - Measure from the crotch to the bottom of the cuff along the inside seam. | |

SLEEVES - measure from the top of the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve. When we think that the arm opening is particularly small, we will provide that measurement as well.** |
