Below are some of are common questions about orders
Yes! We offer a non-refundable layaway program that requires a 20% down payment with the remainder of the balance divided anywhere between 2 and 6 months.
Please contact us if you are interested in using our layaway program.
If you wanted your piece immediately shipped, we also offer Affirm as a payment option at checkout for monthly installments. Link to Affirm's Payment Terms
Rates from 0–36% APR. Payment options through Affirm are subject to
an eligibility check and are provided by these lending partners:
affirm.com/lenders. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down
payment may be required. CA residents: Loans by Affirm Loan Services,
LLC are made or arranged pursuant to a California Finance Lenders Law
license. For licenses and disclosures, see affirm.com/licenses. For
example, a $800 purchase could be split into 12 monthly payments of
$72.21 at 15% APR or 4 interest free payments of $200 every 2 weeks.
On each item that is eligible, there is the option to make an offer! We consider every reasonable offer, and respond generally within 2 hours by email with an acceptance invoice or a counter-offer.
We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Paypal, and Affirm. You will have the option at checkout to select your preferred payment method.
Shipping & Returns
Below are some common questions about shipping, returns, and exchanges
On most items we do accept returns. Visit our Shipping & Returns page for more detailed information on our return policy window, as well as a list of items that are not returnable.
All orders have a 1-3 business day handling time in addition to the shipping times. We aim to have orders shipped within 24 hours of receiving the order, but with such a small team, this is not always possible.
Please contact us before making your purchase if you need an item by a specific date so we can advise you on shipping and expedited handling.
Yes, we offer domestic expedited shipping (1-2 business days) available at checkout for a flat fee. Please contact us if you need something overnighted so we can adjust the handling time.
Expedited Global Express (1-3 business days) is available for a flat fee.
Please be familiar with your own customs policies and charges. The customer is responsible for any additional customs fees, taxes and/or charges. Modig is not responsible for any items damaged or lost by the shipping carrier.
International shipping (4-10 business days) is available for a flat fee based on item weight. We ship to all countries that allow shipments from the US.
International shipping is complementary with orders over $500.
Expedited Global Express (1-3 business days) is available for a flat fee.

Shipping is complementary on all domestic US shipping for orders over $150.
Domestic US orders under $15 have a small flat shipping fee based on weight (calculated at checkout).
International shipping is complementary with orders over $500. International orders under $500 have a flat shipping fee based on weight (calculated at
checkout).
Domestic expedited and global expedited shipping are available at checkout for a flat fee (calculated at checkout).

Domestic shipping within the US takes 2-4 business days depending on location. We ship using UPS, unless the address requires an alternate delivery service.
Domestic expedited shipping takes 1-2 business days. Overnight shipping and morning delivery is available by request.
International Shipping outside of the US takes 4-10 business days.
Expedited Global Express takes 1-3 business days.*
*When shipping internationally, delays at customs on either end may extend the shipping time.
Modig is not responsible for any delay or extension of shipping time due to customs, weather, or other delays once it is in possession of the carrier.

Frankly, we don't know! With a 28" waist, you might wear a
Target dress size 4, but a designer Valentino dress size 10.
The modern "vanity sizing" you see in most stores does not correlate to high end designer sizing, especially when you take into account sizing changes over the decades.
Luckily, if you have a measuring tape, we've made it easy for you to find out in the most precise way possible if you will fit into a Modig garment.

Yes, in 2017 we opened our appointment only studio space in Portland, OR. Contact us for information about setting up an appointment.

We have a huge inventory and aren't able to list it all online at once, so it is always good to contact us if you are looking for something special. Please include images from the web of dresses you like, your size, color preferences and the date of the event. We buy estates of clothing regularly so even if we don't have it in our current stock, it might be our next great find!
Shopping online can be a lot of work, and very confusing. With over two decades of selling vintage, we have a keen eye for unique aspects of the piece, the designer, the quality and most importantly, the condition (view our Condition Notes page).
Vintage clothing has everything to do with condition and quality. We have everything professionally cleaned, mended, steamed and prepared so that when you receive a Modig piece, it is completely ready to wear. We love to surprise and delight our clients with our pieces - most people cannot believe that our pieces are not brand new!
After doing this for many years, we have become more and more discriminate about condition and the quality of pieces we add to our inventory. The prices reflect a more selective collection of finer, rarer, and more collectible garments.
We currently do not rent to the public.
We do offer a rental option for certain stylists and Industry costume professionals. We have worked to help style some of the most famous people in the world, and have had Modig pieces in many award-winning period films and TV shows.
