I love Alfred Shaheen, and this vintage late 1940s or early 1950's strapless floral dress is one of my favorites! The dress has the Shaheen's of Honolulu label and a back metal zipper. The bodice has boning and is lined and the skirt has panels of fabric in the front, like sashes, that look beautiful when the dress is moving! The fabric is a gorgeous tropical floral printed rayon in shades of green, red, yellow and blue.
I wish I could say that this dress is in mint condition, as have been all of the Shaheens I have sold, but it does have a few flaws to mention. There are a few places where the fabric shows small signs of wear - one is at the top of the dress near the edge, one is near a side seam and one is on the bust. The photos actually make the flaws seem worse than they are...the truth is, the fabric hides them fairly well so it is definitely still a beauty! I've made no attempt to repair them as they are more like worn spots as opposed to holes. I have adjusted the price accordingly and hope that this gorgeous dress finds a wonderful new home!
