Description

This is a vintage Spring of 1976 coat and skirt ensemble from Geoffrey Beene that we acquired from the estate of a woman who had an impeccable wardrobe of unique designer pieces. Geoffrey Beene vintage clothing is some of the finest you can purchase and the only way you can truly appreciate his artistry and design talent is to actually feel the garments he created and see how they fit and move. No one did minimalism with such effortless refinement as Geoffrey Beene.

This outfit appears to have never been worn and includes an open front coat with a mandarin collar and a (slightly a-line) skirt. We love Geoffrey Beene and this is an iconic suit that shows his beautiful design aesthetic. The minimalist look of this outfit does not mean that it isn't beautifully tailored! It is so well made and it's challenging to find anything of this quality today. You can wear the coat without the skirt, of course, or wear them together.

The outfit is in a double faced rich royal blue wool and it comes with a matching fabric belt. This entire outfit would be around $9000 if purchased new today with the inflation rate!

We estimate the outfit to fit a modern day size 6/8 but the coat would accommodate a larger size. We encourage you to please review the measurements for the best fit.
