Description

This vintage early 1990's Christian Dior ensemble will literally take your breath away! Gianfranco Ferre was a genius with both drape and chiffon and this outfit is a great example of that. Ferre was the creative director for Dior from 1989 until 1996 and he is one of our all time favorite designers. If you've ever had the privilege of seeing one of the sensational white blouses he designed for Dior, then you understand why we think he is a master. This suit exhibits many of his signature elements, and could easily be worn today.

The real star of the outfit is a long blazer with its graceful silk chiffon drape panel cascading from the neck over the open U-shaped back, demonstrating Ferre's prowess for creating the unexpected. The ensemble includes two skirts -- a maxi skirt with a thigh-high split, and a mini skirt. Alternatively, you may opt to simply pair the blazer with an something you already own!

This suit has the numbered Christian Dior boutique label with hand written details. This would have been considered "demi couture" which indicates that it was made in a quality very close to couture but for a larger market instead of for an individual.
