Patricia Underwood worked at Buckingham Palace as a secretary before moving to the United States from England in 1967. She became a milliner after taking a hat making course at the Fashion Institute of Technology. In 1976, she launched her own hat company.
Her unique ability to transform traditional shapes into very modern designs and her masterful use of non-traditional materials make her hats truly timeless. Her pieces were designed to compliment clothing in contrast to hats that distract from whatever the person is wearing.
