Description

We are so obsessed with this vintage 1997 Chanel navy blue bouclé wool blend jacket with red embroidered trim and a matching pleated mini skirt. This iconic skirt suit was designed by Karl Lagerfeld for the Fall Winter 1997 Chanel collection.

If you don't wear skirts, don't let suits scare you! Just wear the jacket with a pair of jeans or navy blue trousers! We price our suits mainly for the value of the jackets so the skirts are basically free, but with this Chanel ensemble, the skirt is so fabulous, we know the buyer would want to have it! We have documented the outfit on the runway and in a Chanel fashion advertisement in Vogue magazine.

The jacket has shoulders that are structured with pointed shoulder pads and the shoulder seams are undefined. The signature Chanel chain is found at the hem, and there are several seams and darts along the jacket to give it a seamless and sculpted silhouette. There are two shallow side pockets that are still sewn closed and a CC metal zipper pull along the center front opening. The sleeves are slightly cropped and there is a branded CC metal detail on the sleeve.

The mini skirt has a narrow waistband with a back metal zipper with CC branded metal button that is also on the front of the waistband and matches the sleeve button. There are darts along the front and back side seams and the suit is fully lined in monogrammed CC navy silk fabric.

The style number of this suit is: P09658V05945. Made in France of 88% Wool and 12% Nylon with 95% Silk and 5% Lycra lining. The jacket is labeled FR 38 and the skirt is labeled FR 36, but we estimate the jacket would best fit a 4/6 and the skirt would best fit a modern size 2/4 with narrow hips.
