Description

Naeem Khan is know for his attention to detail and the luxurious craftsmanship of his beautiful evening dresses. Naeem Khan began his US fashion career as an apprentice to Halston in the 1970's. That is where he learned the fine art of garment construction. Through Halston, Khan was able to meet an elite clientele that included celebrities like Liza Minnelli and Elizabeth Taylor. He launched Riazee, named after his mother, in 1981 and went on to create his Naeem Khan label in 2003.

This late 1980's or early 1990's Riazee Boutique vintage black silk dress is covered in small layered beads and shimmering sequins to create pansies all over in shades of green, purple, and yellow. The bodice is covered in large layered pansies and the skirt has stems and leaves with smaller flowers.

This playful dress has green beaded double spaghetti straps, a hidden zipper closure with a hook and eye, padded cups, and a sweetheart neckline. Though it is fully lined, the dress is still slightly sheer from the waist down. There are two semi-sheer black layers of silk with some beading and sequins on top.

Labeled Riazee Boutique and Made in India. The dress also has the Rizik Bros Washington DC boutique label.
