This Vintage Victor Costa shift dress is really fabulous! It is black mesh with black and white sequins over a white satin lining and it zips up the back. The sequins form an abstract flower pattern and the dress appears to have never or barely ever been worn.
The dress was purchased at the exclusive Portland Oregon boutique Martha’s in the 1980‘s. This store carried only the best designer clothing and was known for its beautiful dresses and formal wear.
We estimate the dress to be a modern day size 8 but please use the measurements as a guide for the best fit!
Victor Costa was famous for his evening dresses for decades! He was known as the king of the copycats because he was one of the first designers to translate European couture runway looks into accessible ready to wear pieces for American women. His pieces were made well out of beautiful fabrics and high quality trims and embellishments. We love Victor Costa dresses and hope you will discover them and love them too!
