Description

This 2 piece red chiffon evening pants and tunic ensemble was designed by Stephen Burrows in the 1970's.

This dress alternative outfit includes a red chiffon tunic with a tiered hemline that ties at the neck, and a pair of high waisted flowing chiffon pants with the same tiered hemline. This can be worn during the day or dressed up for an evening out.

This 2 piece outfit can be worn together or each piece can be worn in a variety of ways as separates.

Stephen Burrows was one of the designers chosen to participate in the now titled "Battle of Versailles," 1973 fashion show. The show was organized to help raise money to renovate the palace at Versailles in France. The show was set up to put five French design houses (Yves Saint Laurent, Hubert de Givenchy, Emanuel Ungaro, Pierre Cardin and Christian Dior) up in competition with their American counterparts (Halston, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, Stephen Burrows and Anne Klein). This event is often credited with putting American designed fashion on the international map. Stephen Burrows is known for his ethereal flowing, chiffon fabrics and for his use of rich colors.
