Plaid: Our Favorite 2017 Fashion Week Runway Trend

Plaid is Not Just for Lumberjacks and Scots!

The re-resurgence of plaid in the fashion world is a welcomed departure from the oversized grunge flannel shirts that dominated the 1990's! Seeing tartan on the runway in neutrals, bright and soft tones is a breath of fresh air.

Whether hip-hop inspired plaid threads like in Marc Jacobs' new line, or plaid was found when exploring what it means to be British like Jenny Packham - tartan was present in almost every new line that hit the runway this year.

Here are some of our favorite photos from New York Fashion Week Fall 2017:

Plaid, of course, wasn't invented by Kurt Cobain, and this isn't the first time plaid has hit the runway. Tartan has been used by high end vintage clothing designers such as Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Claire McCardell, and many more for decades.

Here are some of our favorite Dressing Vintage plaid pieces that look 2017 runway-ready!

I accidentally bumped into your blog and just gave it a read. It turned out to be a much better thing than I had imagined it would be. All those vibrant fashion trends, along with such a good presentation, are just worth the read. While you have mentioned a lot of good things, I feel like there is something that you skipped. You can refine your article by reading more here https://styleonthecorner.blogspot.com/2017/12/street-fashion-trends-from-runways.html
